Koshinryu Jujutsu Australia together with members of the Australian Jujitsu Federation support the World Council of Ju-Jitsu Organisations (WCJJO), with Koshinryu providing the Australian Director and current WCJJO Vice President.
Through our affiliation with the World Council of Jujitsu Organisations, Koshinryu members have enjoyed the opportunity to compete overseas (and holiday) in countries including … Argentina … USA … Canada … Europe … New Zealand … England … Switzerland

World Jujitsu Championships held in Geneva, Switzerland – Sept 2015

 Congratulations Team Australia: 7 Gold Medals, and 2 Silver Medals

  • Dylan Voncina  … GOLD MEDALS in … the Individuals Grappling division; Plus in the Sport Jujitsu Individuals Division; Plus The Sport Jujitsu Country Team Championship; Plus the Demonstration Team
  • Alex Stadnichenko … SILVER MEDALS in both the Sport Jujitsu Individual Masters Division; and the Sport Jujitsu Individual Division; Plus GOLD in the Demonstration Team
  • Luke Schmidt … GOLD MEDALS in both the Sport Jujitsu Country Team Championship; and the Demonstration Team.
  • The gold medal in both the Country Teams Division and the Demonstration Division both went to AUSTRALIA

  • Lynne Quick took on officiating duties throughout the event, receiving a standing ovation at the post event celebration dinner;
  • Roger Quick – Australian Director and WCJJO Vice President … throughout the event was either Arbitrating, Refereeing or Judging.
  • Special awards were issued to both Dylan for Sportsmanship and Alex for the ‘Rocky award’

World Jujitsu Championships held in Andover, England – Sept 2013

Congratulations Team Australia: 1 Gold Medal, 4 Silver Medals, and 13 Bronze Medals

  • Jeremy Juhas … GOLD MEDAL in the Individuals Grappling division; Plus a BRONZE MEDAL in the Sport Jujitsu Team
  • Conrad van Dort … SILVER MEDAL in the Sport Jujitsu individual Masters division; Plus a BRONZE MEDAL in the Sport Jujitsu Team
  • David Murray… both a SILVER and BRONZE MEDAL in the Sport Jujitsu individual Masters division; Plus a BRONZE MEDAL in the Sport Jujitsu Team; Plus a BRONZE MEDAL in the Country Demonstration … David was also awarded the SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD decided on popular choice of all participants
  • Martin Wilson … four BRONZE MEDALS – Grappling, Sport Jujitsu, Team divsion, and Country Demonstration
  • Steffi-Louise Stackpoole … SILVER MEDALS in both the World Team, and the Sport Jujitsu individual division; Plus BRONZE in the Country Demonstration

Additionally in the Country Demonstration – Gordon Griffiths, Lynne Quick and Roger Quick – BRONZE MEDALS

Nicholas Lovison … put up a valiant effort and display of sportsmanship, however was forced to retire after receiving an injury competing in the Grappling division

Gordon Griffiths … took on the role of Australian Team Captain

The Australian Team also included:

Jim and Meladee Stackpoole together with Roger and Lynne Quick all took on officiating duties; and Roger – Australian Director and WCJJO Vice President … was awarded a special award in appreciation for his contributions over the past 3-years to the WCJJO.

Important Team support was provided by: Joy Griffiths, Zarnia Wilson, and David and Megan Class.

Special thanks also to Matthew Cugola with the preparation of the Team

 
The gold medal for the Country Teams Division, and the gold medal for the Demonstration Division went to England.

World Jujitsu Championships Las Vegas USA – Sept 2010

Congratulations Team Australia: 2 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal, 1 Bronze Medal

  • Matthew Cugola (Team Captain) … Attained a GOLD MEDAL in the Individuals Grappling Weight Division PLUS a SILVER MEDAL in the individuals Sport Jujitsu Weight Division
  • Larry Papadopoulos … Attained a GOLD MEDAL in the individuals Grappling Weight Division
  • Moti Ram … Attained a BRONZE MEDAL in the individuals Grappling Weight Division
  • Graham White and Conrad van Dort … put up valiant efforts and displays of sportsmanship, however were forced to retire after they both received injuries competing in the Country Teams Division

 

The Australian Team also included:

  • Roger Quick – Australian Director, WCJJO Vice President, and Referee … who was awarded a special award in appreciation for his contribution to the WCJJO and in the redrafting of the WCJJO Tournament Rules
  • Vince McCann … took on the role of providing first aid care throughout the event
  • Angie Cugola – Team Photographer
